Basis of his songwriting and the main influence of the early days were the British Blues-Bands of the 70s, like John Mayall, Peter Green etc. Later the influences expanded to ward the US R&B and Soul music. In course of the time Norbert wrote more than 100 songs, some of them with Chart-qualities. In this way he soon became the creative head of the bands he was involved in and a source form ideas.
Shortly after founding his first band in 1969 there was no stopping. Already 1 year after that the band played several festivals, later also the WINDSOR-Free-Festivalin London and was immediatly chosen one of the best bands of that day. (Unfortunately they spelled the band-name wrong: Karne instead of Canaan) Lots of gigs followed - not only in Germany. So he played in France, Netherlands, Great Britain, Denmark, Japan, Norway, USA ...
